Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the respective Manager, the Administrative Assistant provides a variety of secretarial/administrative support and general clerical services and other related duties to the Managers to support the program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training & Experience
Grade 12, supplemented with standard commercial courses, plus 3 year’s recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Second language requirements will be noted on posting, if required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proven word processing skills and demonstrated ability to create and work with spreadsheets, databases and create presentation materials, utilizing a variety of software applications.
- Proven keyboarding skills and minimum typing speed of 50 net wpm.
-Demonstrated ability to proofread own work and to take minutes.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, to multi-task, to work independently with minimal direction, to problem solve, to take initiative, to anticipate potential problems/conflicts and take appropriate actions, to organize and prioritize work and to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to establish/maintain satisfactory work relationships with the public and other employees, to deal tactfully and effectively with co-workers, public and staff from other agencies, to maintain confidentiality and to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work within a team environment and to operate standard office equipment.
