Primary Responsibilities
position will be responsible for performing a wide variety of laboratory tasks
Specific responsibilities
- Composite and prepare samples as per SGS methods by cutting and weighing incoming samples.
- Daily monitoring of refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
- Organizing refrigerators and freezers.
- Cleaning of refrigerators, water baths, N-Evap, and dusting of computers, benches, etc.
- Defrosting freezers.
- Cleaning fumehoods
- Ensuring proper disposal of samples as per company policies and documentation of disposal date.
- Calibration of balances, pipettes, auto pipettors, syringes, etc, as per company guidelines.
- Update MSDS and Certificate of Analysis binders.
- Clean used glassware.
- Maintain a clean working environment.
- Archive documents and maintain a log.
- Disposal of waste solvents.
- Neutralization of acidic and basic waste for disposal.
- Silanization of glass wool and liners.
- Preparation of diazomethane, if necessary.
- Maintain standards inventory.
- Follow all company health, safety and environmental policies
- Adhere to the Company’s Quality Policy and Procedures.
- Follow Quality/Laboratory Management Systems’ procedures and documentation.
- Support any other duties that may be assigned.

-Departmental Supervisor or Manager

Skills
- A minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) is required.
- Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
- Candidates must be proficient in using various types of computer software (Word, Excel. PowerPoint & Outlook).
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
- Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.
- Ability to work well with others & independently.
- Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Works well under pressure.
- Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time.
- Ensures full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies.
